Been working on this project for a bit now and I finally finished!
Modeled in ZBrush, finished texture composite created in Photoshop, with normal and ao mapping from xNormal. It tiles seamlessly and I’m very happy with the result! Here are some process pics:
Finished sculpt in ZBrush – the square tile + 2×1 tiles in the bottom left and right are repeated as the seam of the texture goes through them. Same with the square tiles and 1×2 tiles on the top and bottom.
Tile diffuse – normal map – ao map.
